WHO WE ARE

Ignite Foundation C.I.C is run by two best friends, Tania Moore and Nichola McGuire.  With the passion for dance, arts and performance, both have experience as community educators, youth work and producing corporate and community projects.

Schools, community groups, children and young people in our networks have been telling us that there is lack of availability in dance projects and progression routes and feel that dance offers life changing, resilience building and enriching opportunities.

BUT

there is big gap in available dance projects, opportunities and progression in the industry.

As a trained dancers and educators that believe in the benefits of Arts for all, this gap in provision troubled us and we channelled our experience and knowledge to create Ignite Foundation C.I.C to and deliver excellent artistic educational projects, by developing and evolving the program and show - DANCE ENERGY.

At Ignite Foundation. C.I.C we aim to break through social and economic barriers within the professional dance industry.

We challenge the common perception that a career path into dance and the arts is not available to everyone by opening doors and providing opportunities for underrepresented and marginalised young people in our communities.

We provide a positive nurturing environment, cultivating and building self-esteem allowing our  young service users to thrive creatively.

By instilling our users with a sense of pride and achievement through a foundation of support and encouragement, we ignite self belief, passion and determination to achieve their full potential in dance.

ABOUT

DANCE  ENERGY

Dance Energy is a 6 month integrated development programme.

with a focus on supporting marginalised children and young people aged 7-19 years and up to 25 with a lifelong learning difficulties and/or disabilities, we have developed this enriching programme that culminates in a professional dance showcase and competition which aims to empower children and young people through the art of dance.

As part of the show and experience we provide opportunities for the participants to attend a range of workshops, tasters and weekly rehearsals at schools, youth centres and community groups where they engage with dance mentors and form dance groups who will then compete in the live dance event in London.

Dance Energy:

· Raises aspirations and builds on self-esteem utilising the arts to develop creative skills

· Improves mental health and physical activity

· Provides sustainable opportunities, early stage career development with accessible progression routes

2020 will see us hosting our second annual Dance Energy event and we will return to Cadogan Hall on Friday 3rd July 2020, where participants will showcase their talents in front of family, friends and adjudicators to potentially win bursaries and scholarships from industry partners.

We intend to continue to bridge the gap in available dance projects and career progression, offering life changing, resilience building and enriching opportunities whilst connecting kids to prestigious dance companies and mentors in the industry.
